COLON HYDRO THERAPY CHAPTER MALAYSIAN SOCIETY FOR COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE) CHAPTER LEADER: BRIAN WONG
A “colonic” or “colon therapy” is the gentle infusion of gravity fed, temperature controlled, filtered water into the colon via the rectum. This therapy uses state of the art, FDA approved equipment operated by Certified Colon Hydrotherapists to safely cleanse and remove toxins from the body. The average colon is 5 feet long and a person can have between 2-5 kilos of impacted waste matter lining the walls of the colon. Prolonged exposure to toxins within the body can lead to autointoxication and can be the cause of poor health and chronic conditions. A colonic uses water to break down and remove any waste or toxic matter built up within the colon.
How Does Colon Hydrotherapy Work?
Colonics are carried out in very comfortable private rooms with state of the art FDA certified equipment with no mess and no odour to worry about. You will be fully covered at all times. To begin, a therapist will guide you on how to insert a small sterilized rectal tube into the anus. Upon ensuring your comfort, your therapist will use the FDA approved equipment to infuse warm purified water into the colon using gravitational pressure only. Waste matter will be remove through natural peristaltic action of the colon. There is no mess, odor or embarrassment as the entire process is done in private using specialized equipment.
Benefits of Colon Hydrotherapy
The main benefits of colon hydrotherapy are as follows:
1. Cleanse the Colon: Toxic material is broken down so it can no longer harm your body or inhibit assimilation and elimination. Even debris built up over a long period is gently, but surely removed in the process of a series of treatments. Once impacted material is removed, your colon can begin again to co-operate as it was intended to. In this very real sense a colonic is a rejuvenation treatment.
2. It Exercises the Colon Muscles: The build up of toxic debris weakens the colon and impairs its functioning. The gentle filling and emptying of the colon improves peristaltic (muscular contraction) activity by which the colon naturally moves material.
3. It Reshapes the Colon: When problem conditions exist in the colon, they tend to alter its shape which in turn causes more problems. The gentle action of the water, coupled with the massage techniques of the colon therapist helps to eliminate bulging pockets of waste and narrowed, spastic constrictions finally enabling the colon to resume its natural state.
4. It Stimulates Reflex Points: Every system and organ of the body is connected to the colon by reflex points colonic stimulates these points, thereby affecting the corresponding body parts in a beneficial way.

MASSAGE CHAPTER MALAYSIAN SOCIETY FOR COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE) CHAPTER LEADER: TIM LOW CHEE KIAT
What is Massage Therapy?
Massage is the practice of applying pressure or vibration to the soft tissues of the body, including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, and joints. A form of therapy, massage can be applied to parts of the body or successively to the whole body, to heal injury, relieve psychological stress, manage pain, improve circulation and relieve tension.
How does Massage Therapy work?
Massage assessment takes place as stress cues are evaluated. Stress cues are parts of the foot or hand that shows adaptation to stress. Adaptation is shown by visual signs such as callousing, knobby toes or bunion. Indications of stress are also seen as sensitivity to technique application or touch signs perceived by the reflexologist as technique is applied. The assessment of such stress cues allows the reflexologist to target areas of stress and to design a session of pressure technique application appropriate to provide relaxation specific to the individual.
Steps of Massage
Reflexology allows the body to heal itself through releasing and dispersing toxins that accumulate throughout the body and cause pain or illness. So, after the first treatment you may be feel more relaxed, calm and stable. After the third and fourth session, there is usually some improvement of the condition. In general terms the benefits of reflexology have to do with the reduction of stress. Because the feet and hands help set the tension level for the rest of the body they are an easy way to interrupt the stress signal and reset homeostasis, the body's equilibrium. Whether reflexology can benefit certain conditions and diseases in still under investigation. Further scientific study need to be done in order to come to some definite benefits of reflexology in regard to illness and disease. Reflexology is a complement to standard medical care. It should not be construed as medical advice. It should not be a replacement to medical help. Please use it wisely. We care about your safety.
